Nationally Recognized Certification in Italian Proficiency
Italian Studies at the University of Florida together with the Dante Alighieri Society of Gainesville is pleased to announce that students of Italian and other speakers of Italian may now obtain certification recognized by the Government of Italy attesting to their respective levels of competence. Such certification is required for those wishing to apply for government jobs or programs in Italy and is recognized throughout the European Union.
The PLIDA program (Progetto lingua italiana Dante Alighieri - certificazione di competenza della lingua italiana) offers a multi-level examination in May and October of each year. This year’s examination is scheduled for the following dates at the University of Florida. (Location TBA)
- November 26: written portion, level B2, C2
- November 27: oral examinations
Students who have completed ITA1131 or the equivalent thereof should write the B2 examination; those who have completed ITA2204 or the equivalent thereof should write the C2 examination.
Those wishing to write the examination must submit the examination fee of $165.00 together with the following information: name, date of birth, address, telephone number and email address, no later than October 15, 2009. Examination fees may be paid by check made payable to the Dante Alighieri Society, Gainesville Chapter. Applications can be delivered personally to Dr. Mary Watt care of Pugh Hall 301 or to Giovannella Moscovici at a regular meeting of the Dante Society or by mail to 8049 NW 27th Blvd., Gainesville, 32606 no later than October 20, 2009. Applicants will be notified of the examination location by email in mid November.
